Output and Impact Measuring

Starting with 2010, LBG International improved data collection tools so that its reporting can better reflect the changes brought to the community and to the company. These tools were created by LBG member companies and non-governmental organizations from the UK.

Most often, changes are very diverse even when it comes to projects supported by the same company or projects aiming at the same cause. To address this, the LBG working group which developed the new reporting component firstly defined the main areas where changes may occur, namely:

  • End-beneficiaries and related target groups;
  • Partner organizations;
  • Environment;
  • Company.

Once these areas were identified, the next step was to map the types of changes and their depth.

The fourth area in which information is being tracked concerns the effects of various community project experiences on the company, and as a result these changes were split into:

  • Visibility and reputation;
  • Improved community relations;
  • Impact on customers;
  • Impact on staff.

Through its new output reporting component, LBG provides companies with tools for them to:

  • find out the real figures and types of beneficiaries;
  • assess project capacity to truly impact people, the environment, organizations and companies;
  • assess the efficiency of different projects and partners;
  • diversify or adjust the volume and the type of resources invested;
  • compare their CSR outputs to those of other companies from the industry or leaders in the field;
  • adapt partnerships concluded with different community partners to ensure that they achieve their CSR objectives. These adjustments may refer to beneficiaries, type of change, project approach, etc.;
  • get information that is easy to present in a unifying format shared by all member companies;
  • report based on an international standard.
